Litter Catcher
If you have a cat, you have a litter box, and if you want to keep the area around the litter box clean, you should be using a litter catcher. This is a special mat that you place beneath the litter box. It is larger in area than the box, so when your kitty steps out of the litter box, any litter that is still stuck to their feet will come off on the mat and not someplace else on your floor. Having a litter catcher beneath your cat’s litter box will save you from having to clean up a lot of big messes, and you won’t have to dig out the broom to sweep the area nearly as often.
It Will Protect the Area From Little Accidents
Sometimes cats have a little bit of trouble getting their business done right inside their litter boxes. Many cats stand on the edge of the box when they use it, and often, instead of getting it in the box, they pee or poop down the outside of the box. This mess of course will run down the side of the litter box, and onto the floor, and if you don’t get to it in time before it dries, it can be really difficult to clean up. It is a lot easier to clean a litter catcher than it is to be stooped over trying to clean a mess off the floor, and if you have one beneath the litter box, if your cat does happen to have any accidents, the mat will catch them and they won’t hit the floor at all.
Get One In Any Pet Store
You can get a litter catcher pretty much anywhere you can buy litter boxes. The next time you are at your local pet store to get food or other pet supplies, take a look at the various litter catching mats that are available. It may be a good idea to look in department stores where pet supplies are sold. Often, supplies such as litter catchers are a lot less expensive here than at specialty pet stores. They are pretty inexpensive to begin with anyway, but you might as well save money anywhere you can.
Having a cat can be loads of fun, and if you are like most cat owners, it won’t be long before they are considered important members of your family. Even though cats are fun, and they are clean pets, we still have to help them with a few things, and if we can make it easier for them to get the litter off their feet without them having to lick it off, just by putting a mat beneath their litter box, why not. Using a litter catcher will not only save you a lot of work, but your cat will thank you for it too.
